This is an exciting time for the group,especially HL Plastics, who have been operating from the same site since 1977. The continued steady, and more recent rapid, growth of the company has resulted in HL outgrowing its current site.

To compensate the company has for some time now been operating from split sites.

The new factory and offices occupy an impressive 90,000 sq ft and will see all operations reunited under one roof. This will undoubtedly improve services and efficiency all round.

THE FACTORY consists of a 50,000 sq ft manufacturing hall which will utilise underground water tanks and services. It has provision for 42 extrusion lines and 6 injection moulding machines.

Further investments into machinery will see the addition of:

l 4 x Battenfeld Extruders

l 7 x A&G Downstreams

l 1 x 80 tonne Victor Moulding M/C

l 1 x Tec Bex Extruder & Downstream

THE TOOLROOM will double its current capacity and will occupy a dedicated area of 2,800 sq ft. Investments in this area include a new Fanuc Robocut Wire Eroder and 2 additional Milling Machines plus Surface Grinder.

WAREHOUSING facilities will be greatly improved with 20,000 sq ft being allocated for the storage of both raw material and finished goods. This area also sees the investment of an additional 2 Nissan Forklift Trucks.

OFFICE facilities will be housed over 2 floors and will occupy 13,500 sq ft, with a further 3,000 sq ft reserved for future expansion.

All areas of the new building will be furnished to a high standard providing employees with a modern, well equipped and comfortable environment in which to work.

Further investment of £130k will see the benfit of a major overhaul to the IT & telephone systems in order to support future demands.
