To complement our extrusion and moulding services, the HL Technical Department provide a complete design and prototyping service direct to our customers.

Design
Our involvement in the initial design process allows us to provide a cost effective bespoke solution. The in-house design service utilises CAD software packages to develop initial concepts through to actual working models (AutoCAD and Solidworks).

We produce 2D and 3D electronic designs of all our extrusions, mouldings and assemblies. These can be individual and multiple components, photorealistic images or animations, providing an accurate and complete view of the products.

At HL, our capabilities also include advice, calculations and extensive testing of finished components.

Rapid Prototyping
We offer an in-house rapid prototyping service, manufactured directly from 3D models. This allows customers to view a model of their product prior to tool manufacture.

Technical Manuals
To provide a complete service to our customers, we utilise the 3D models to create technical manuals and instructional brochures for more complex component assemblies. This includes:
  • Parts assembled in any required orientation
  • Specific cross sections highlighted
  • Any product view available
