HL Plastics has a long history of apprenticeships and actively seeks young people to join its organisation every year, in a variety of departments. Its CEO Roger Hartshorn commenced his own career as an apprentice toolmaker at 16, and has encouraged his own family to follow this example, citing the belief that nothing can replace the value of ‘on the job’ learning. Apprentices 20 July 2018A large number of former apprentices have stayed with HL Plastics and risen through the ranks to supervisor or manager level; we believe this is an ideal career path for many people and enables them to learn the culture and methods of the organisation, backed up by the theoretical knowledge they need to perform their respective roles.The company works with local educational establishments to provide classroom-based learning alongside their day to day activities at HL Plastics, and time is allocated to study as required.
